Spa Day

#22 Completed- Have a Spa Day and Invite Someone Pain Goes Bye-bye Sometimes women just need a spa day. In my case, a back and leg massage day. Mr. Mind gave me a wonderful Christmas gift, two deep tissue and hot stone massages. It was a pleasure to lay back and let someone press and push out all the kinks. Not only am I stressed from my crazy job, but I also have pain in my legs. Once a month my left leg goes numb with pain as my sciatica throbs and stiffens. The only way I can sleep at night or walk during the day is to constantly take B-Complex or Folic Acid. Of course pain pills would help, but I rarely touch the stuff. The massage therapist took my sciatica problem into consideration as she began to work. She described how the sciatica vein begins in the buttock and runs down the back of both legs. When the vein is pressed on in the hip/buttock area, the sciatica swells and causes the stiffness and pain. She will analyze how I sit and get up and down from a sitting posit...

160 Days Left

Distraction I am half way through 30 years old with only half of my list completed. Winter crept in so beautifully then snatched every ounce of energy from me for months on end. I ran from the car to house just to advoid breathing too much frost ridden air. I've seen temps as low as -40F to as high as 45F in the last 3 months. Everyone around me has been sick with all the typical nasty winter colds. I had a cold for 1 week in early March and it wasn't too bad. Light at the End of the Tunnel Now that the layers of snow are peeling back like a sweet onion, I have noticed how many months I have left to complete 30 While 30. I have completed nearly 18 tasks so far. With another 12 left on the list, I am trying to make plans to get them done. I noticed that most of the tasks left require money of some sort. How did I manage to do all the free stuff first? Hummm, none-the-less, I must stay on task. Groupon just posted a discount tandem sky-dive adventure. Perhaps I should...

First Martial Trial

Image
Our first marital trial is upon Mr. Mind and I. It hit us hard and fast. We had a small clue that things were going to get tough with infertility, but we had no clue how tough. There was plenty of self-blame and hurt; balled up fists and gritted teeth, but all was done alone. We never shared a thing with one another. Then one day, we had to give an another couple a ride and the wife was pregnant. Her comment about how it shocked them and had to tell her parents because they needed to know what to do next; brought about deep anger in Mr. Mind and I. We kept quiet all evening until we were alone and it all came pouring out. We both got to see how hurt, disappointed and angry we were. We just cried together.  Speed forward a month and our pastor thought it was a wonderful idea to share in front of 8 other people that we asked for special prayer for infertility. I instantly grew mad, how dare he! Showcasing someone's else's pain is beyond rude. However, when I looked over at M...

Money Mondays-Freezer Cooking

Freezer Cooking is prepping food in containers or plastics bags with all the ingredients for a meal. I gave this a try last winter for a week. My husband did an excellent job checking the list, pulling out a meal and cooking it. What makes this easy? Well everything is in the bag. I place the meat, veggies, sauce and seasonings. If there was a side dish, I also wrote on the bag what to add and when to add it. For example, I prep beef and broccoli stir fry. In the bag I write the name of the dish and underneath I write "Cook all in wok. Add bean sprouts at the end of cooking and Serve over rice." Inside the bag I placed the beef, chopped broccoli, onions and the sauce. I laid the bag flat in the freezer until it is frozen. I write the meal name on the side of the freezer on a list. If you are nervous about storing raw meat with veggies you can always place your meat and sauce a in quart sized bag and place it in the larger bag. List of blogs to grab some ideas: Once a...
