Barilla Gluten Free Noodles

Gluten Free Pasta is now available from a popular brand, Barilla. As soon as I saw this on my Target's shelf, I grabbed a few different shapes and put them to the test. Barilla now sells Elbow Noodles, Spaghetti Noodles, Penne Noodles and Rotini Noodles.

Do you over boil your gluten free noodles and return to the kitchen with a mushy mess? I found that I didn't over cook these noodles to a mushy mess. The spaghetti noodles also held up when baked in my baked tomato-less spaghetti bake. The penne noodles didn't harden when I created chicken salad and refrigerated it.

The taste was similar to regular wheat noodles. No one would be able to tell the difference unless they make handmade noodles. The yellowish color remained through the cooking process and I actually liked seeing that on my plate versus the pale yellow that results with many noodles. I will continue to buy these until I learn how to make my own pasta.

Great work Barilla! Now let's talk about a flat lasagna noodles. You make those next, and you would have won me over!
