Score Some Free Stuff

When a woman tells her insurance company that she is expecting a baby, she is loaded up with tons of samples and free goodies of baby products. Every registry provides goodies from businesses clamoring for you to buy more and more. These free items let you sample before committing to a whole bottle or full serving size.

If you are adopting, you may not get those items from the insurance company, but that doesn't mean that you have to totally miss out on the goods. Adoptive families, make sure to get your free share of goodies too. We have butts to change, and mouths to clean and feed, too.

I have listed many companies that I have received items from over the past year or two. I even listed some that I have yet to receive items from. To make this list easier, I have grouped them into 3 categories: Pay for Shipping, Totally Free, Subscriptions. This should give you a clear understanding of what you are getting yourself into.

Pay for Shipping
 1. BabsyBooks.com
These items are promoted as free, but you pay a shipping price. Have no fear, when you divide the price by the number of items, it is considered extremely discounted.
CODE: GET5FREEBOOKS
Shipping: $13.99

2. Sevenslings.com
These slings are cute but I need something sturdier. Check out these slings on their site and a coupon code usually pops right up. Monograms can be added also.

3. Babyleggings.com
I scored a pair and I plan on ordering 5 more!
CODE: GIVEME5FREE
Shipping:$14.99

Totally Free
1. Babyganics *
Requested samples and two months later I got 3 newborn diapers in the mail with a coupon. If you have patience and your baby is more than 3 months away from his/her due date, give this a try.

2. Gift Registries:
Target
This store dominates my shopping life...great place for everyday items.

BuyBuy Baby
I totally wanted to open a registry here, but their stores are so far away from where my family and friends live. I am referencing more than 4 states. Check this store out for all your baby needs especially their strollers. They have so many premium strollers, mattresses and more.

Khols
At the end of each season, I always spend a day here picking out the cutest items at 70% off. This store is not the best for registries as they only have clothes, and a few baby essentials. But hey, check it out for yourself.

Babies R Us*
I received a bag with a bottle, newborn diaper samples, a pacifier, and many coupons. This was our main registry.

3. Enfamil Family Beginnings*
I received a whole kit filled with #3 types of formula. We do not plan to use this but will keep it on hand for an emergency.

Subscriptions
I struggled to add this section to the post because I am not a fan of monthly subscriptions. I do not mind paying a fee to receive a product, but I dont like getting billed every month. Some months I do not even go through the products and here comes the next one. But many families need subscriptions as it saves them money and time. I have recommended one that I like. Don't forget that each subscription has a trial period that you have to pay attention to if you want to cancel.

The Honest Company
I like the rash cream. It is smooth, oily and non sticky. I have even used it on my son's head for cradle cap. I tried one of the diapers, but I have yet to buy a whole pack.

Highlights Magazine
This is a subscription that I will sign up for when my little guy reaches 8 months. Don't you remember the Highlights Magazine from when we were little? They now have a magazine for little babies and toddlers. This is a annual subscription, with a monthly or bi-monthly delivery.

I hope this helps you get started on learning and testing baby products. Sometimes visiting the websites of the companies that you are interested in can land you some great trial products. Have no fear, companies want your business so they will send some goodies your way!

Until Next Time,
Maruki
